CapriBlue are Gigi D'Errico (guitar & vocals) and Asako Takayanagi (double bass).
The name of the band is a tribute to the Island of Capri in Italy, also named the pearl of the Mediterranean, famous because in the 40's thanks to Frank Sinatra there was born the swing movement in Italy.
CapriBlue plays the italian and french repertory from 20's to 50's, using same instruments and sound of the era. The songs of CapriBlue are basically rearranged for guitar and double bass in a very original way. The guitar of Gigi, playing swing and manouche rhythms, merges the class of the italian and French jazz. The double bass of Asako, playing in walking with sudden bow solos, merges the elegance of jazz with the perfection of her strict classic technique.
Thanks to the support of their sponsors, CapriBlue plays a regular season of concerts all over Japan, more often as a duo, sometimes with guest musicians who join with them.
